Biokovo Skywalk – Vrgorac – Baćinska Lakes

From Sea Level to the Roof of the Adriatic

One of the most striking riding days of the journey takes us from sea level deep into the Biokovo mountains. The road climbs steadily through changing landscapes, revealing wide views over the Adriatic before reaching Sveti Jure at 1,762 meters above sea level — the highest peak of Biokovo and the second-highest mountain peak in Croatia accessible by road.

A stop at the Biokovo Skywalk offers a dramatic pause before continuing higher, where the road tightens and demands focus, rewarding smooth riding and precise lines. The ascent culminates at Sveti Jure, where silence, space and elevation create a truly memorable riding moment.

The descent shifts the rhythm entirely, flowing down toward the hinterland with long, sweeping bends and changing scenery. After a relaxed lunch stop, the route passes through open valleys and vineyards of Vrgorac, before continuing toward the Baćinska Lakes, where calm water and flat terrain provide a gentle contrast to the demanding mountain ride.
