SUĆURAJ – HVAR – STARIGRAD – SVETA NEDJELJA
Island of Hvar
An early ferry crossing sets the tone for a full day on Island of Hvar, combining relaxed island travel with some of the most scenic coastal and inland roads in Dalmatia.
Riding across the island, the route passes through the Stari Grad Plain, a UNESCO-listed cultural landscape shaped by ancient Greek land division and continuously cultivated for over 2,400 years. Stone walls, vineyards, and olive groves reveal a living agricultural system dating back to the time of Pharos, offering a rare insight into the island’s historical continuity.
The day continues to Hvar, one of the most important historic towns on the Adriatic. Rising above the harbour is the Fortica (Španjola) Fortress, offering sweeping panoramic views over the town, the Pakleni Islands, and the open sea — one of the most iconic viewpoints in the region.
Hvar’s old town reflects centuries of Venetian influence, visible in its elegant stone palaces, fortified walls, and harbour architecture. The town is also home to the Hvar Theatre and Arsenal, one of the oldest public theatres in Europe, built above a former naval arsenal — a unique symbol of Hvar’s maritime, cultural, and civic heritage.
The return ferry in the evening brings the group back to the mainland after a day that balances riding, scenery, history, and island atmosphere.
